Healthcare Update • August 6, 2018
As the Trump administration feverishly works to dismantle and block protections to our healthcare by attacking the system from within, this year we worked across the aisle to pass countermeasures at the state level to protect you from action taken in Washington. Republicans in Washington have taken aim to reduce or block access to health care by voting to repeal the Affordable Healthcare Act, loosen restrictions on minimum care requirements that produce “junk insurance” plans by reducing coverage and networks, allowing insurance companies to eliminate coverage for substance abuse, maternity care, mental health treatment, and coverage for prescription drugs, as well as reducing access to women’s reproductive healthcare.
